Martin studied mathematics at Cambridge University and then trained as a chartered accountant, working with Ernst & Young for 16 years before moving to the banking sector, where he spent eight years at Barclays Bank and now works as the Executive Director at Goldman Sachs.  He is also the director of his local rugby club, and spent two months as a finance volunteer at the Shaishav Trust in Gujarat.
