Karen is a Senior Consultant at Spring Impact, leading and supporting on the delivery of projects at Spring Impact. She brings experience from social sector consulting and was previously a consultant for The Social Change Agency where she was responsible for delivering programmes and consultancy on movement building, strategy and governance for clients ranging from grassroots unincorporated groups, large charities, to Pan-European networks looking to create social change.
Originally from Canada, Karen also brings research experience from the UK housing and global health sector, and has previously conducted and supported research on how social conditions impact the health, well-being and resilience of people and communities nationally and internationally. As a social change practitioner, she enjoys bridging strategy and research with action and has worked on health and social policy projects in Namibia, South Africa, India, and Romania.
Currently, she is a trustee of CAYSH, a charity providing housing and support for young people facing homelessness in London. In her spare time, Karen mentors young Londoners to support their professional and personal development. Karen holds a BA in Economics and Political Science with honours from McGill University as well as an MSc in Social Policy and Development with distinction from the London School of Economics (LSE).
Karen is especially passionate about and interested in collaborative and participatory approaches to addressing complex social challenges at scale.
