Peter is the head of the corporate and commercial team at Simons Muirhead and Burton (SM&B). He has specialist experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial agreements and with specialist experience in working on cross border (UK and US) transactions. Peter advises for a wide range of clients from the entertainment, fashion and media and tech industries to more traditional owner-operated businesses, high net worth individuals and professionals practices.
He has a strong commitment to social justice and actively involved in corporate social responsibility (CSR) related projects and leads the SM&B’s CSR Team. SM&B has a long history of advising on civil liberties and founded and runs the Death Penalty Project which is dedicated to the abolition of the Death Penalty. Peter’s other roles include acting as a non-executive director at the National Sports Trust Council and being involved in the This Girl Can Campaign, and is a trustee of Making History, as well as advising a number of leading national charities and social investment organisations.
Prior to joining SM&B Peter was a partner at Davenport Lyons, having qualified at Nabarro Nathanson. He started his working career as a freelance journalist writing for UK and international publications after having graduated from Vassar College, NY.
